Rev. Darryl B. Heath
Rev. Darryl Barnard Heath is the proud Pastor of St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Sacramento, CA. He served as the Administrative Assistant to the late Dr. William E. Hights for 12 years. After the Lord called Dr. Hights to glory, Rev. Heath was called to take the mantle of leadership in 2000. Under the leadership of Pastor Heath, the St. John Fellowship continues to grow and ministries flourish. In addition to Sunday worship, new ministries and community outreaches have developed; and a successful plan that paid off the church mortgage in 5 years are some of the results of the leadership of Pastor Heath. After a successful first seven years of Pastoral Leadership; Pastor Heath has set forth a vision plan for the next seven years that is aggressively geared to empower men and women of all ages, encourage students to continue their education, assist first home buyers, and aid those living with challenging situations. He is a gifted preacher who's preaching and teaching is progressive and reaches all ages.
Pastor Heath as held the office of 2nd Vice President of the California State Baptist Convention; 3rd Vice President of the Sacramento & Vicinity Baptist Minister's Conference; Treasurer of the Sacramento & Vicinity Men's Conference and is a Chaplain with the Sacramento Law Enforcement Chaplaincy. Pastor Heath is also a member of Pastors Assisting Students to Succeed (P.A.S.S.); Blacks In Government (BIG) and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. He attended the University of Davis, transferred to Citadel Bible College where he received a degree in Religious Studies.
Pastor Heath has been married to Mrs. Arnet Rene’ Heath for 33 years, and was the caretaker of their late niece Teresa Wright and their nephew David Mitchell. They are now the guardians of their two great nephews, the sons of their late niece. Pastor Heath is a man who loves people and has a sense of humor. While growing up in Los Angeles, he has developed a great passion for people who are trying to make a change in their lives and reach their God given potential. Pastor Heath mottos are “Life is something to be enjoyed and everyone should have a chance to be all they can be in Christ.”, and “All it takes for evil to prosper if for good men to do nothing."
Arnet Rene Heath
A strong young Christian woman with a sincere love for her Lord. She was born and raised in Sacramento, CA. She grew up facing many challenges, but continued to forge ahead, keeping her faith in God to see her through. She has worked with many youth and young adults, sharing her story and educating them both spiritually and in general knowledge.
Mrs. Heath is the proud First Lady of the Historic St. John Missionary Baptist Church, where she and her husband, Rev. Darryl B. Heath work together in the care for God’s precious flock. Sis. Heath is the former Principal of the St. John Christian Academy, and was one of the original teachers when the Academy first opened for operations in January of 1987.
